Chartreuse is a place of residence for authors and for directors and choreographers working on a research phase and writing in pre-production. Artists from other disciplines (musicians, visual artists, filmmakers, architects …) and researchers can be accommodated in the monastery when they are part of the work of a company, or when called within the program activities of the Charterhouse (conferences, exhibitions, entertainment heritage, events, territorial actions …).
Chartreuse welcomes both established artists as well as emerging artists.

Accommodation information:

The artists are housed in the former Carthusian fathers’ houses. It has hermitages kinds of compounds with enclosed garden. The House is divided into cells, studios, rooms.

Cells, studios and rooms have kitchenettes.
Workspaces include meeting rooms, a dance studio, an auditorium, two multipurpose rooms and work spaces suitable for work presentations, readings, performances.

Library:
It includes a background of 8,000 books, devoted to the performing arts, and especially contemporary dramatic repertoire – the history of writing and to changes in writing, as well as new media (books in French and English).
