Call for Performers: Cruising for Art – Bristol

Cruising for Art at IBT13: To celebrate the return of IBT13 International Festival of Performance we are putting together a very special festival party, Dressage. Created with our friends Horseplay, the night features performance project Cruising for Art.

As part of our ongoing partnership with Theatre Bristol we are pleased to offer artists with intimate and one-to-one performances the opportunity to join the Cruising for Art line up featuring Stacy Makishi, Mitch & Parry, R Justin Hunt, Lucy Fizz, and Season Butler, and perform these works within the festival party environment.

We are looking for up to five performers to bring their own one-to-one work as part of the night. Work must be for 1-2 audience members at a time, be tech light [with each performer responsible for sorting their own tech needs during the show], flexible in a number of different spaces, and repeatable for an evening. Previous work has taken any number of forms – gentle conversations, sensual challenges, hilarious games and heartbreaking revelations.

Please note that this version of Cruising for Art takes place at Dressage, the IBT13 festival party located within the busy Bristol club Lakota, on Sat 16 Feb, between 10:30pm and 1:30am. While all modes of work are encouraged, all pieces need to sit inside this club context.  There will be a limited number of quiet areas available that can be completely private but the majority will take place in public spaces. For photos from previous Cruisings and further information
